This auction is for a beautiful large Armand Marseille 36" Bisque head, compostion body doll. I can't imagine a small girl actually dragging this doll around as a plaything. As you know, extra large dolls are hard to find and sell for thousands of dollars. Please look closely at the photos; they describe her better than my words . These old dolls are complicated to describe because of their age. I have collected dolls, but am not an expert. First of all, she is marked A16M DRG 374831, and she has a oval shape which can be seen in the 6th photo. Her original wig is still in tact, but I gave her another with to wear over it because it is a bit matted. She has blue eyes and full eyelashes. Both her head and composition body are in good shape. The only major flaws I see are: a chip in composition around neck area , chip in composition back neck (6th photo), and the hands are worn looking, but all fingers and toes are there. Her shoes are antique black leather child's shoes. The strap was not long enough to cover her foot, so a black ribbon extends from the nob on one side to the loop in the strap. She is wearing a silk satin dress which is trimmed with lots of old lace, pearls, and appliques. It reminds me of a crazy quilt. The dress has some shattering and a rip or two.
