Large 17 Inch Silver Articulated Fish Tupu Peru I am selling a large 17 inch Silver articulated Fish which is attached by a silver chain with six beads on it to a large silver plaque with two birds and a peacock at the top. On the back of the silver plaque is a large pin measuring about 6 inches. The piece is made out of a type of low-grade silver or coin silver. The fish measures approximately 17 x 2.5 inches. It was quite difficult to get the whole fish in the picture but I did it. The fish has two original red eyes and has all five fins. The fish is articulated and moves nicely. The top plaque is made of similar coin silver and measures 6 x 3.75 inches. It is adorned by two birds at its side and a peacock on the top. The total measurement of this piece is approximately 28 inches total length. I was told that this is a type of Tupu that is from Peru and is probably quite old probably the late 1800s. That is all I know about this large beautiful piece.
