Up for bids is this Large Antique Early 20thC Chinese Emroidered Silk Robe W/ Rank. This robe was made in China during the early 20thC. The background silk fabric is a dark plum with a shimmer. There is fading which you can see in our photos which has colored to an iridescent dark gold. Embroidery is done in light and dark aqua, gold, dark magenta, pale mint green, emerald green. The inside is a royal blue, lavender and pale gray silk. Enlarge photos to see details.Measurements: 45 1'2" from the top of back collar to the bottom of back hemline.29 1/2" from under arm to opposite under arm.Condition: Fading to the background silk, The piping of the back top collar has separated from the robe 4 1/2" on the seam, there is fraying and a 1" separation as well on where the piping and the collar, the frong which is at the top of the robe's neckline is present however the part that hooks has torn. There are pulls to the embroidery throughout which does not detract at all from this robe.
