LARGE Antique English Oak Clerkâe(tm)s Desk Writing Slope Arts & Crafts era, SOLID OAK Construction Direct from England, this listing is for a quite wonderful SOLID OAK, antique English clerkâe(tm)s desk or writing slope. RARELY do I see one in such fabulous condition, and especially one with the marvelous upper cut-out trim!! This desk is quite heavy, with thick English oak throughout and very well made (see photos). The sloped lid has a raised lip to hold papers on top, and the interior has a single divider in the back. The measurements are 14 ½âeH x 21 ¼âe x 23âe; Appx. interior, 10âeH x 19 ½âe x 21âe. I purchased the desk in an English shipment sale and selected it for the obvious beauty and style, as well as the solid oak construction. These portable desks are highly popular right now with decorators, being used in home offices, kitchens, and family rooms âe" GREAT for use with laptop computers and video games!!! The desk is in good condition for its age, with normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections; it is sturdy and strong, well built for years to come. T is not a key, as the original lock was removed, probably years ago, as is commonly the case in antique boxes. Buyers please remember that antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character. SHIPPING: Professional packaging, shipping and insurance on this item will be $55.00. (lower 48 states only).
