Up for bidding consideration is this exceptional, VERY collectible, Antique Inlaid, Railroad Style Cuckoo Clock". I was told it originated somew around the late 1800s to early 1900s and is still in good working condition for it's age. A clock like this can run as high as $600.00 to $800.00 in an Antique Store. The box is made of thick, sturdy wood, the inlaid on the front is pristine, no visible chips or cracks, which I can see. T is slight wear on the back of the box but it adds character to the old style. A charming old, antique wood dial has nailed on numbers, which is accented with a set of beautiful, OLD hand carved, bone hands. Tall, vintage wood bellow pipes, which have recently been recovered with lambskin leather call out the hour with a rich, deep, pleasing sound and then once on the half hour. The bird is large, with authentic looking wings that flap when he coos. A dependable, OLD G.K. movement keeps the time, which has been on time for the last year I have owned it. The movement is driven by two, old antique pinecone weights and an original wood bulls-eye pendulum. It is a very large clock, measuring 4 1/2 inches deep x 6 1/2 inches tall x 12 inches wide, not counting the pendulum or weights. The back door is lined with a STRONG sounding gong which strikes the number of hours, two side access doors on the box allow access to the movement and bellows.
This is truly a precious piece, sure to add pleasure to any home, office or wver you choose to showcase this magnificent very Old, Antique inlaid Railroad style Cuckoo Clock! You can't go wrong with a low starting bid and no reserve. DUE TO THIS BEING A VINTAGE CUCKOO IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS, NO RETURN SO PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. Some adjustments maybe necessary once the clock arrives at it's new home, I often encourage clock buyers to service these cuckoos annually, if this is done regularly the clock will most likely out last you. Shipping/Handling is $37.00 to anyw in the USA and $4.70 insurance (which is required). International bidders please inquire about shipping costs prior to bidding due to varied rates. Thank you for looking and good luck. Happy Ebaying!
