Maroon Bibles are known to be much more scarce than darker colored leather, and are prized for their scarcity...This Bible has many, many pages printed in color. It also features some color pages and black and white Engravings not found in other Bibles of this period....The bottom of the spine says "2000 Illustrations". It measures 10 x 12 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches..!... and it is extremely well illustrated... The Gold Leaf illustrations on the cover are unusual also. The Bible is sculpted deeply, with gold stamped, fully tooled, embossed leather boards and spine , lettered and decorated extensively in gold...T are silver-colored clasps that are in perfect working condition....We would say that this Bible is in NEAR MINT condition...and has been in no need of any restoration of any kind....
