This auction is for a GREAT early 20th century Newcomb Macklin Frame, gold leaf/brush with excellent patina throughout its surface. Dates to approximately circa 1919-1930. This frame has the fabulous gold patina that you just cannot find on any new gilt frame. Beautifully carved. Please view all photos to see the wonderful details of this frame. T his frame retains its original pencil model number labeling on the back "#3440-Crate" or "23340-Crate" and no longer retains its stamp or paper label. The painting opening size from the back measures 22 3/8" by 26 3/8" making a perfect fit for a 22" by 26" (or slightly larger) fine painting. The outside frame measurements are 28 1/4" by 32 1/4". The frame is about 3 1/4" wide and about 1 1/2" thick (from front to back). This hand-carved frame is in 9 out of 10 condition, with typical scuffs as expected with a frame of this age.
