This beautiful antique solid wood cabinet with leaded glass doors is the perfect find for someone looking to install or replace a built in bookcase or storage cabinet in a large old home or place of business. At one point part of a row of built in cabinets, this cabinet has a beautiful facade and is made to fit into a place 91 inches tall by 65 inches wide by 21 3/4 inch deep, front to back. The overall dimensions of cabinet are 92 inches tall by 67 inches wide by 22 3/4 inches deep, front to back. This cabinet was made in the early 19th century and appears to be mixed woods, birch and pine stained to look like walnut. The back of the cabinet is beautifully panelled as shown. The doors are lovely old individually leaded paned glass. I show one panel is cracked but not broken out and could certainly be used as is until a repair is arranged. This could easily be repaired if desired by someone who does stained or other old glass restoration. Behind the doors are five shelves, each 57 inches wide, including the bottom of the top section of the cabinet. The top four shelves all have a lip and taper in depth as shown for a variety of display options. The top two shelves are 11 inches deep, front to back, with 8 1/4 inches clearance above the top shelf and 10 inches clearance above the second shelf. The third shelf is 13 inches deep, and also has 10 inches clearance above. The fourth shelf is 16 inches deep, with 13 1/2 inches of clearance above. The bottom of the top cabinet serves as the bottom shelf and 18 1/2 inches deep with 15 1/4 inches clearance above. Below the shelves are two large, deep drawers with campaign chest drawer pulls. Each drawer measures 26 inches wide by 17 inches front to back by 11 inches deep and offers ample additional storage for inventory or belongings. This is a solid wood piece cabinet. It has a few issues with the trim on the facade where it is missing one small piece on the top right corner and because this cabinet sat on the end of the row in it's original configuration, the trim is different on the right side where it rounds to a corner vs. the left side where it is a even cut as it sat flush to another cabinet. These are all issues that should be able to be addressed by a carpenter fitting the cabinet into your home or business. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition and overall beauty of this terrific old cabinet. The most recent owner was from Summerville, SC and had owned the cabinet for the last "20 some" years, but he'd obtained it when an old building was dismantled and the cabinets sold off at auction. Unfortunately he does not remember the name or exact location of the establishment. This wonderful antique cabinet is the easy solution to your remodeling goals of adding a special built in cabinet into that old house you use to house your business... or your life. A great antique solid wood cabinet at a great price, don't let this one get away. * Please contact me with your state and zip code for a specific shipping quote with a blanket shipper prior to bidding.
