LARGE Antique VIENNA BRONZE PEN WIPE Cold-Painted Dog

This stately recumbent Great Dane exemplifies the best of 19th-century Viennese bronze work. The original cold-painted finish has wear consistent with age but remains attractive throughout. T is naturally-occurring verdigris that could be cleaned or left as is. The original pen-wipe bristles show minimal use. I can make out most of the word "GESCHUTZT" on the bottom with a magnifying glass. (This is the early Austrian registration "protected" mark.) The dog measures 6-1/2" long by 3-1/2" high by 2-1/2" wide and weighs about 2 lbs. The bulldog in the last picture is available in another auction.
