~ Antique Volkstedt Group Figurine ~ This beautiful porcelain group was produced early 20th century by Volkstedt of Germany, and depicts a musical scene set in a parlor with three large figures and a piano. The figures have beautifully detailed faces and are wearing gorgeous clothing with deep purples and reds, rich gilt with colorful handpainted florals, and lace trim. The piano is beautiful with gilt scrolling and an exquisite throw that lays across the top, and there is a fabulous floor rug with incredible colors and enamel florals set into the gilt edges along with scattered porcelain flowers decorating the base. In addition to the extra attention to rich detail and color, this piece is extra special in that the figures are very large--the seated figures measuring 11" to 11 1/2 " tall and the standing figure measuring 13" tall! Most of this piece is in excellent overall condition with just some gilt wear, a few minor chips to flower petals on the base and the seated man is missing the bow to his instrument. However, the standing man has some poor repairs--to his neck, his instrument, and some of his fingers with one finger broken off on right hand (these repairs could be much improved upon by a professional porcelain restorer). Marked with an early Volkstedt makers mark as shown, the piece measures 17 1/2 " wide by 13 1/2 " tall by 12 " deep. A large, elegant group figural... it is a spectacular display! ****** ...including Italian, German Bisque, and Dresden Porcelain... ~Thank You for Viewing my Auctions!~ ******
