This is Jessy's pick of the week, and that dog knows GREAT STATUARY!!!! This is a Original Antique Statue, not a reproduction!!! Made in the late 1800's. The statue itself can be found listed in New Haven Clocks & Watches written by Tran Duy Ly's on page 118. This statue was used on the beautiful figural clocks and also used as a side piece. This piece is unique in that it is mounted seperately on its own heavy cast iron base and was probably used as a mantel or room accent. This is a large figure of the FAMOUS Flemish Painter Peter Paul Rubens 1577- 1640. It was made in the late 1800's and is in " ORIGINAL CONDITION ". This AWESOME STATUE depicts Rubens seated upon an ornate chair with legs crossed holding a paint brush. The figure itself is made of spelter, white or pot metal and has the "ORIGINAL" Bronze finish which is about 95% intact. The statue measures 11 inches by 11 inches and is mounted on a Very Ornate Cast Iron Base which measures 14 inches by 6 inches wide by 4 inches high. The total height with the statue is 15 1/2 inches. This is a very heavy piece weighing approximately 15 pounds. Please take this into consideration when placing your bid.
