Large OLD China Very Detailed Soapstone Carving Mountain Village XLNT Condition Altho unmarked, I believe this very well carved soapstone landscape dates to the late 19th Century China. The top part is a light olive green color. The attached base appears to have been made from a separate piece of brown soapstone, also excellently carved to fit the sculpture. It looks like it is in the best condition...I can find no chips, repairs or missing pieces. See my other auctions for more Chinese antiques, also listed today. Measuring about 12" long and 7" tall, this will weigh 8.5 pounds when securely packed for shipment.
