Fantastic Old Atlanta Estate Find!.I bought this beautiful large Rose Medallion / Rose Canton / Mandrian Vase from the estate of a prominent Chinese Antiquities collector a decade ago and have enjoyed its beauty daily. It is in fantastic condition for its age; approx ca. 1845. The vase is profusely decorated with scenes of court and palace life and the figures display incredible detail and personality and the gold details in their hair and costumes are beautifully painted. No cracks,chips, repairs or restoration noted. The size is Over 14 1/4" tall , 6 1/4" base diameter. approx 8 in diameter at widest part in middle. top 6 1/2" wide with beautiful scalloped rim. The details include gold applied salamanders and foo dogs with very little wear to their gold. Principal scenes framed with dragons with 4 toes . Side panels include beautiful birds and butterflies.I have attempted to photograph the important details but the overall beauty and incredible detail is hard to illustrate. Vase will hold water without leaks if you choose to use this wonderful artwork as a flower container. I am glad to answer questions. Thanks for your interest.
