Large Coin Medal This came from an Everett, Massachusetts estate. This coin is, I believe, solid copper...either that or bronze. It is 3" in diameter and a full 3/16" thick. It is quite heavy. The edge is smooth with no design or printing. On the front side is a raised relief of President Martin VanBuren. It has the date 1837 A.D. and in very small letters F Ü RET F. On the back side is a raised relief of a handshake between President VanBuren and a Native American chief. Above the handshake is a crossed hatchet and pipe with the words 'Peace and Friendship'. This medal looks to be in perfect condition and I have NOT polished or cleaned it in any way. If you are pleased with your item, FIVE STAR positive feedback is greatly appreciated! I'll leave some for you, too, almost immediately upon receiving your payment! Don't forget to add me to your favorites list!
