A very appealing matching pair of antique Staffordshire spaniel mantel dogs. This fine pair date from about 1880, as indicated by the colouring, the style of face and the position of the firing hole which is half way up the back. Approximately 13 inches tall. Both are in excellent order, though with the usual firing related defects, including a small surface loss to the glaze as pictured in photo four. Commensurate with the breed. Large, endearing and fit for any fine mantel piece. Happy to post abroad, though overseas bidders do please contact me for a shipping quote before bidding.
