Hi, I'm Hew. I have enjoyed collecting flow blue, polychrome and transferware since 1970. Alas, it is now necessary for me to simplify life, downsize and make a portion of my collection available to others. I have also placed several pieces in my antique shop booth. My first preference is to sell to my fellow eBayers, so please let me know ASAP if I need to retrieve this piece for you. Cheers! This is a large, colorful, venerable oriental scene polychrome Flow Blue transfer Staffordshire pitcher or jug by Ridgway pottery, made in 1878. This interestingly tapered pitcher is 4 5/8" diameter at its base, 3 5/8" diameter at the rim and 7 3/4" high at the spout. It has a unique braded-look handle. The pattern is 'COREY HILL'. The under-glaze flow blue transfer and the overpainted polychroming contrasts nicely against the white background. T is a myriad of colors applied including green, reddish pink, burnt orange and red-brown at the rim. The garter device potter's mark containing the pattern name is printed and the date of manufacture is impressed. Please see also the Corey Hill compote I have listed, Item #280085892772. This pitcher is free of chips, flakes and repairs. T is almost indiscernible crazing limited to the very bottom. T is a tight hairline adjacent to the top of the handle, and though it detracts little from the beauty and value, I have priced the piece accordingly. The pitcher exhibits a healthy and solid ring when tapped. I have collected flow blue and polychrome since 1970, but now find it necessary to downsize and simplify my collection. I would recommend that this rare piece be used for display. I have additional pieces in this pattern. In order to keep prices reasonable, I present these listings in a no frills manner. I also avoid playing with Reserve pricing. I strive to set a price that is fair, and to state clear and reasonable shipping costs. Shipping (basic, U.S.) for this substantial pitcher will not exceed $9.00. I always pack carefully, however, insurance is always a good idea, and I will add this unless requested not to. Items can be combined for further savings on shipping. I accept Please use the above links if I can answer any questions or if you would like to view my other available items. Thank you for looking, enjoy eBaying, and good luck!
