Here is a large Georgian period Country Oak Bureau. Needs a bit of attention here and there but is an old working item. Large drop Oak Fall front with an inlaid Mahogany? band to edges. 2 over 3 graduated Drawer base with cock-beaded drawer edges. Original Brass drawer handles and diamond shaped escutcheons.Inlaid band around drawer edges matching the top. Pine Drawer backs. Quality handmade dovetailed joints. Oak Bracket supports to base corners (odd piece missing to back supports). Hoizontally Pine boarded back. 2 x pull-out Fall supports to side edges. Within the top there are a number of shallow drawers to back with 2 x secret Pocket compartments to centre. Very old Item there are signs of use/wear as expected with an Ink stain within the Bureau top.The small drawers to back a few are missing original drawer knobs. 4 x Brass hinges holding the Heavy Fall front(not original) - there is a split to edge to 1 x hinge.A few pieces of Inlay missing around the Fall front edges.(as seen in pics). No woodworm. Heavy item. Dimensions are 4ft 1ins Width to front of Bureau,3ft 8ins Height to back,22.5ins Depth front/back to base edge.
