This is a BEAUTIFUL NEAR MINT example of a German Wall Clock SUPERIOR condition. German Wall clocks are of the highest quality. . It was made in Germany circa 1910. The German clocks in our collection have not yet required any servicing and have kept perfect time for many, many years. This particular model is in near perfect, 100% ALL ORIGINAL condition. It has a HEAVY DUTY CLEAN 8-day time and strike movement, which strikes once on the half hour and counts the hours on 3 large chime rods with a beautiful mellow sound IN A DOUBLE STRIKE PATTERN. After it strikes it resonates for many seconds. I believe this is the one of the most beautiful strikes we’ve heard on a German wall clock. The movement is attached to its original seat board which slides out for easy adjustment and viewing. You don't need to even take off the dial. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added where needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.25 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! We have included some pictures of the movement so you can see its “inner beauty”. This clock is large and measures 35 inches high, 14 ½ inches wide and 9 inches deep. Has its original wavy heavy bevel GLASS on the door in which to view the time and the large original pendulum moving back and forth keeping time for you and the original glass over the dial in which to view the time on the near perfect dial. The clock has a nice quiet way it ticks also. The heavy case is beautiful with the original finish. The original dial is in superior condition. The numbers are very easy to read. Original hands. Complete with the original pendulum which is in superior condition, with its original screw and pendulum holder in which to adjust the clock for slow and fast. Includes a large heavy duty key to wind the clock. The back of the clock is perfect with its original heavy duty hook to hang it on the wall. If you are looking for an impressive clock that was very well made and “taken well care of” its entire life – THIS IS IT! This clock is a very high grade clock, with lots of attention to detail, a heavy duty movement and lots of “extras” that most clocks do not have. The movement slides out for easy oiling and servicing, no need to even take the dial off or hands. Also has its original wall stabilizers on the outside of the case! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working perfectly after about 80 years! And the truly amazing thing it is ready for the next 100 years, and will probably run indefinitely with tender loving care. This fine clock movement has been completely overhauled and cleaned. The main cause of antique clocks’ no longer working is that they need a good cleaning. Over time, the oil in the pivots gathers dust and particles of metallic grit, the result of normal wear. Also the oil breaks down and becomes thick and gummy, and actually acts like glue. The result is that the gears no longer turn freely, and the clock stops. A good cleaning usually is all the clock needs to be almost like new again! The cleaning procedure involves taking the movement out of the case and totally dismantling the movement. All the gears, rods, etc., are taken off of the clock plates and are hand scrubbed and inspected for wear. The springs are taken out of the barrels, stretched out, and hand cleaned and polished.
