This auction is for a large, handsome, antique tole tray. This octagonal beauty measures 18 x 26. It has oval handles with a little dip on the bottom...a nice detail. The handpainted flowers are excellent! They are a lovely mix of roses, hydrangeas and others. The colors are subltle roses, green and mauves and the flowers well- rendered. The edges are trimmed with gold flourishes, and t is yet another smaller border inside that. I could not find a signature. I would say that this tray was used as it was intended and thus shows signs of wear. I would say it is in good condition, with some scratching and paint loss. I feel the fine painting on this piece as well as it's size and shape will still be a wonderful addition to your collection for display or use.
