Description A stunning large heavy antique solid sterling silver cigarette box by the silversmiths William Comyns & Sons Ltd in Lovely condition and with full English silver hallmarks for London 1936. Beautiful quality example, a great size, with a hinged silver lid and decorated with attractive stylised Art Deco engraving on the top. Has its original undamaged wood lined interior, complete with 2 wood dividers and there are no engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms in the cartouche. Weight Fine heavy box, weighs 528 grams . Measurements Measures approx 7.75 inches (194mm) x 3.55 inches (91mm) and is 2 inches (51mm) deep. Date Antique English Sterling silver with a f ull set of silver hallmarks for London 1936 (date letter "A"). Matching hallmarks on both box and lid. Maker Silversmiths initials "R.C" (William Comyns & Sons Ltd ). Condition Lovely condition , no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, definitely no holes and no nasty knocks or dents either, just the usual tiny surface bruises/dents but really nothing much at all and a nice clean box.
