This week I am listing 2 RARE Hull items, in the hard to find Hull Bow Knot pattern. This listing is for a VERY LARGE 12 inch, RARE BOW KNOT BASKET. This is THE MOTHERLOAD of baskets. It is signed on the bottom U.S.A. HULL ART 8 - 29 - 12". After a review of The Collectors Encyclopedia of HULL POTTERY, I realized that according to this publication. this is the 3rd MOST VALUABLE item HULL even made. The other two are advertising plaques. With the soft classic colors of Pink, Blue, Cream and Yellow, this beauty is a real eye catcher on anyone's shelf or mantle. You'll find this basket with an extremely strong mold, and very rich colors. Unfortunately, someone must have knocked this basket off a shelf, as this was broke into a few pieces, and glue back together. Someone has taken the time to reassemble this basket, but I think being the rare piece of Hull that this is, I would put this into the hands of a Professional and have it professionally restored. This basket books for over $2,400.00 if in mint condition, and can be restored to look just as good. Please note the pictures that show the chips and cracks that were "loved" back together. The handle was broke off the top, and one side had been re-glued w it was broke off in a large 6" piece, as well as the chip off the bow. This looks wonderful if you want a nice shelf piece to put potpourri in, and turn the broken side to the wall. Now is your time to buy a piece of history at a reasonable price, as these hard to find Bow knot pieces are disappearing. T is a rich history about this pattern and the fire that destroyed the original molds. Do your research! Despite the damage, this rare large piece of Hull Pottery is a real beauty.
