A large Italian studio pottery vase.The base is marked by hand 'Zlg20-30 Italy'. I believe this vase is made by Bitossi. It has a feel of a Bitossi vase and the decoration is very much in the Bitossi style. It is decorated with a gold glaze that has been over glazed with a brown/blue. The glaze has then been deliberately rubbed to reveal the gold below in certain areas. The thin bands of circles have been coloured gold over the blue glaze.The vase is impressed with circular bands and two wider bands of symbols.30 cm tall x 12 cm wide.The vase has a number of small chips including one to the rim a number to the inset decoration and a couple of tiny chips to the base. The centre of the vase has a couple of shrinkage cracks from manufacturer these have been over glazed but mentioned for accuracy. It is not in perfect condition but is a rare and good quality vase that does still display well.
