Here is a fantastic lot of Antique handcarved wooden peg doll. I have had most of these in my collection for over 30 years.The large one with the comb is wonderful but vintage. I have had her for around 20 years or so. I do not know when or who made her but she is really a great carved doll with wonderful detail. One earring missing. She measures 18 inches tall. Look at the detail. The others measure from 18 to 11 and 1/2 to 7 to 10 inches. Lots of sizes in this lot. One I bought from Christies auction years ago. All are unique and one of a kind. One has been carved but not painted. Some are smiling and some have quite a snobby or mad look on their faces. I love these dolls because I think of the maker of the dolls at the time. Im sure the way they were paintd might have said alot about the artist and what they may have been feeling that day. LOL.Intricate work for sure and the wood they are made from tells a story also. Made in the late 1800s to the early 1900s they are a fasinating part of doll and primitive history. Selling the whole lot together. From a smoke free home. Please look at pictures as that is really the best part of my description.
