Large Meissen Cobalt HP Floral & Gilt Dbl-Handled Vase Description: A large and really gorgeous vase from Meissen, Saxony Germany. Urn shaped, it stands on a square base and has a wide, flared opening; white interior. Beautifully detailed gilded white handles on 2 sides. Cobalt exterior with a large hand painted multi-color floral & leaf spray; gilt scrolling around it. Gilt trim around opening and around base. Absolutely incredible articulation! See photos... Dimensions: 9 7/8" tall; 5" @ widest; opening is 3 1/2" in diameter; base is 2 7/8" square Markings: On the bottom: in blue, the Meissen crossed swords hand painted in red, "342"; an underscored "9" over "175" impressed, "SV" ? very light - difficult to make out Condition: Good. No chips, discoloration or crazing. Very, very minor to no gilt loss; no colored paint loss. T is what appears to be a repair in the stem. I'm not sure if it's a repaired break or if the porcelain cracked at a weak point, but it does go all the way around. The vase is perfectly stable, and because it's at the narrowest point of the vase it isn't noticeable without close inspection. See photos...
