for your consideration is a very large and heavy set of 'MUSKETEERS' bookends. These bookends have been attributed to POMPEIAN BRONZE and were made in the 1930's. Each bookend stands 11" tall, 5" wide, 4" deep and weighs 2 lbs. 7oz. They were made using the old bronze-clad method. The condition of these bookends is excellent both structurally and cosmetically except for one wrist has a fracture. It has not been repaired and still holds the hat. The plaster is visible underneath. Both bookends stand straight and level. The finish is consistent and even between them. The features are clear and distinct. These are very detailed and very high quality. The photos will demonstrate the condition, quality and detailing on this amazing set of bookends. The self-confidence that is demonstrated in the stance and facial features is incredible. This sword is peeking out from the rear of his cape; the sleeves are pleated and billowing. One foot is held behind, on its toe, and, they're holding their hats as if they are answering to a cheering crowd preparing to take a bow. These Musketeers are captivating.
