I found this very old Bison Skull Cap during the summer of 1967 while working on a land surveying crew. It was mostly buried in the silt and sand next to the "little Blue River" outside of the city of Hastings, Nebraska. One horn was sticking out, so I dug out the rest of it. It was stored at my father's home in Fort Collins, Colorado, and then in my home in Fort Collins, until I moved to Florida, w it is now located. Skull color is closer to the tan or brown photos. The grayish color in the full skull photos are not color correct (poor camera color quality). It weighs 16.8 pounds, measures 29.5 inches straight across from tip to tip, measures 30 inches maximum distance from outside horn to outside horn. The weight and all measurements are approximate but close. Many years ago my father glued around the left eyesocket area to reinforce the cracked area, and that has held up nicely. The glue is not noticable from the front, only from the underside. The skull is very solid, but because it is very old, great care must be taken in shipping it. When the sale is completed I will let the buyer know of the shipping cost. I will research the best shipping and packaging for the Skull and charge appropriately. I will not charge any more that what it will cost me to package and ship.
