This auction is for an incredible collection of original postwar Lionel Factory Parts from the parts drawers of Madison Hardware, New York. When Madison Hardware closed in 2001, it left behind a legacy of factory production parts that were amassed over decades of Lionel production. As Lionel concluded its production of a particular accessory, locomotive or piece rolling stock, the obsolete and overstock parts would oftentimes be acquired by Madison Hardware. Upon their arrival, the parts would be sorted, cataloged and placed in hundreds of parts drawers that lined the walls of their New York warehouse and repair shop. This 33-pound collection represents only a small fraction of the parts that Madison Hardware had in its inventory and was acquired at the 2003 Madison Hardware liquidation auction in Novi, Michigan. These original parts are in overall Excellent (+) (C7-C8) condition but may show signs of storage and handling wear. This Mystery lot represents the combination of small pieces and parts that became mixed together over decades of storage and handling at Madison Hardware. They reflect the commonly used parts on Rolling Stock, Accessories, Locomotives and are all in useable condition. Due to the extreme volume of parts in this collection we are unable to provide part name, number or quantity. Please examine the detailed pictures read more
