This is a very nice example of a true, authentic and unique Heriz from the first quarter 20th century (circa 1920). Colors are phenomenal, saturated, rich, bountiful and healthy. Deep red, beautiful beige border, accents of light blue, rose, green throughout. Some areas knot heads may be seen adding luster. Most Heriz rugs are known to have medallion, allover motifs such as this are harder to come by, and in this carpets case, more attractive. Note this is also a uni-directional field - even a bit more unique with cypress trees and gorgeous interpretation of a garden design which is not everyday either This is a used carpet in need of some TLC, although the extent is not overwhelming. All areas that could use attention are photographed - 1' area needing selvage, ends to be secured, and hole to be patched and 8" rip to be brought together with overcast. Hole in the carpet is from wear - not dry rot. The carpet has no dry areas . All malleable and absolutely no propensity toward cracking or splitting making it a better candidate for restoration. Note the back of the carpet is free and clear of any patches. All sales final, this is a used carpet in need of some love. Very worn as may be seen in photographs.
