*** Elegant Three Piece Sterling Silver COFFEE SET in coveted "PLYMOUTH" Pattern created by Gorham Silver Company (1919) -- No Reserve! Up for auction is this elegant solid sterling silver three piece COFFEE SET in the coveted pattern of PLYMOUTH manufactured by GORHAM Silver Company. All three pieces are in excellent original antique condition, with NO monograms or removals. One very tiny mark at top of coffee pot handle which does not detract from the piece. It now has character, after over 70 years of being carefully tucked away for someone to appreciate it! The detailing on each of these rarely offered and difficult to locate pieces remains crisp for their age and each has a most lovely patina. The reverse of each piece is incised with the old marks of "GORHAM, "Lion, "Anchor", "G". The large COFFEE POT measures approximately 11" wide from tip of spout to handle tip x 9 7/8" high x 6 1/2" interior depth . Underside marked " 2 3/8 Pints ", "PLYMOUTH", "Sterling" , "A2441", and the symbol of an elephant dating the piece to 1930 in addition to the Gorham maker marks. The handle is firm and tight. The ivory insulators are intact and beautifully, naturally aged. ( The large coffee pot alone , not currently available through online matching services, retails for nearly $900 !! ). Substantially heavy sterling weight of approximately 26.3 ounces! The open SUGAR BOWL measures approximately 6" in length x 4 " in height and weighs 7 1/2 ounces. Thick, raised banded rim. Rich, lusterous inside and out. Underside marked with Gorham maker marks, "Sterling", "A2445","PLYMOUTH", and the symbol of a dirigible dating the piece to 1929. The CREAM JUG with high arched reeded, ribbon form handle measures approximately 6 1/4 inches in height, 5 inches handle to spout, and weighs 7.2 ounces. Rich. lusterous inside and out. Underside marked with Gorham maker marks, "Sterling", "A2444", "PLYMOUTH", and the symbol of an elephant dating the piece to 1930. All of these pieces is executed in urn on raised pedestal form. Fluted, panel "corners" provide wonderful visual appeal to this classic design! All on thick, step down oval bases which are crisp and perfect, as well as all rims and edges!
