Nicely made Indian axe found in New Castle, Indiana in 1967 (old tag). This porphory axe is made from an attractive brown granite with white phenocrysts. The pre-patination color was blue as indicated by the newer chip on the bit. This axe is more like 5/8ths grooved, yet it still sit up right on a shelf making for a fine display. Minor dings usage dings on the bit take very little away from this nicely formed axe. This axe measures 8" in length. Guaranteed to be made by the hands of ancient man.
