A FINE PRE-COLUMBIAN MAYAN FIGURE, Ca. 600 - 800 A.D. Description : Mayan figure from Escuintla, Guatemala, ca. 600 - 800 A.D. This Tiquisate type female figure is 6" in height, portrayed seated and is elaborately adorned with the traditional large earspools, over-sized nose ornaments, lip plug, fancy necklace, and applique shoulder scarification. Hollow buff clay with great age patina and mineral deposits. Condition : Repaired from several pieces without restoration over the breaks. No new clay. Impressive figure that shows extremely well.
