LARGE RARE GRISWOLD NO. 9 "HANDLE GRIDDLE" - 609 (Mint)

This is a lovely Early 20th Century Large No. 9 GRISWOLD Cast Iron Rare Marked "Handle Griddle" in Mint Condition. The underside of the griddle has the hard to find "Handle Griddle" marking clearly reading "NO. 9, HANDLE GRIDDLE, GRISWOLD (with their renowned cross and double circle logo) ERIE PA., 609 G". The griddle measures 11" across the round base and tapers upward and inward to 10-3/8" across the round top. The griddle stands 9/16" high including a 1/4" high rim around the inside to contain what's being griddled. The griddle has a 4" handle with a "9" on top of it. The griddle is very clean, seasoned and in pristine condition with no chips, cracks, pitting, rust or warping and sits perfectly flat on the stove. The cooking surface and entire inside is exceptionally smooth reflecting like a mirror (see gallery photo). This is truly a lovely Early 20th Century Large No. 9 Rare Marked "Handle Griddle" in Mint Condition for use and a striking display from the Premier Manufacturer of Early American Cast Iron Cookware, GRISWOLD.
