This is one of three beautiful matching cranberry glass shades that I've listed this week without reserve. Normally I wouldn't break up matching pieces, but given the style of shade it is more likely that someone would want one or two. The shade is a gorgeous clear cranberry color - shaded just slightly darker to the edges. It is unusual in the fact that it is a petticoat style, but unlike the comparatively small delicate petticoat shades that sit on a chimey, this is a large heavy shade that stands 3 1/4 inches high and measure 9 1/4 inches in diameter - the size of a full dinner plate. In this regard, used with a chimney, it would be a beautiful shade for any oil or kerosene lamp, or equally pretty on a gas fixture. The pattern in the glass is sort of a cross between a thumbprint and diamond optic -- low relief "bumps" without the diamond. Please note that the 'cross-hatched' appearance in some of the photos comes from the dish towel underneath. T are no lines on the shade. This piece and the other two are in excellent condition --with beautifully soft rounded edges and just a hint of roughness to the touch on the fitter edges.
