A large Contemporary self portrait watercolour by Christine‘Kit’ Hiller (b-1948) dated ’90 and titled ‘Sandia’. Kit Hiller is print makerand illustrator known for her landscapes and portraits as well as linocuts of birds and wildflowers. She trained at the Tasmanian School of Art. Her work has been included in group exhibitions including the Archibald Prize (1982 – 1986) and the Glover Prize (2005). She has also had many solo exhibitions. Hiller was awarded the Portia Geach Memorial Award for women portrait painter three times, the Tasmanian of the year award in 1987 and the Tasmanian Day Award in 1986. Her work can be found in public collections including the Queen Victoria Museum and Gallery, Tasmania and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.. Please go to to view the artist’s website. The watercolour on heavy paper is in good condition with great colour; signed and dated in the watermelon, bottom right. There are couple of very minor marks to the paper surface; also a slight kink in the heavy paper about two thirds down (not visible when framed). Both very minor pointers.
