This large Sestrel Offshore BINNACLE COMPASS was removed from a large sailing Yacht, and had been beautifully refinished for the previous owner- It remains in remarkable condition . There are numerous photos to show it's condition. Quite large - It is an IMPRESSIVE instrument of WORLD CRUISING SIZE AND QUALITY. It is superior to the Danforth/Ritchie Globemaster binnacles frequently used on large offshore vessels. Compass is the highly respected large English made Sestrel, equally appropriate for SAIL OR POWER Vessels.It can be used in any horizontal wheelhouse or cockpit mounting, or will mount on most large Pedestal steerings. Very HIGH VISIBILITY card makes the bold numerals really stand out. Card is marked both in DEGREES AND CARDINAL POINTS . This is an extremely high quality compass, with jewelled pivots, bold sighting line, Lubberlines and prominent Shadow Pin. High dome gives excellent magnification and readability. Sunshade hood prevents sunglare. Can be illuminated for night running, using the two clips under the sun hood to hold 12V. Red bulbs or L.E.D.s Stands about 8 1/2" inches tall with sunshade up, and 7 1/4" inches across the binnacle base. It is extremely heavy and heavily made. Compass is fully magnetically correctable for vessel deviation, with the adjusters accessible from the outside of the binnacle at the base. In addition, the tall shadow pin can be used for sun azimuths for solar correction. Binnacle will be packed in an oversize box to insure that it stays upright during transit.
