We are selling this fine and rare large signed William Spratling Rosewood bowl with inlaid silver decorative elements along the rim. This large bowl is signed on the base into the wood with the William Spratling mark. The bowl which is circa 1930's-1940's measures 14" in diameter and stands just under 5" tall. The bowl is of rosewood and t are 10 silver inlaid half circles around the rim of the bowl. Each measuring approx. 1" wide and descending down approx. ¾". T is a crack in the bowl and a chip in the rim by one if the silver inlays. The crack measures approx. 5", goes from rim down towards the center of the bowl. The crack has gone through and can be seen on the interior as well as the exterior. Please see photo details. This is a great bowl and made by one of the most celebrated Mexican silversmiths. Works by Spratling are always in demand and highly sought after.
