A rare very good quality largesilver plate communion wafer box. It is marked with various letters and numbersto its base including the date 1955 and the ordinance arrow mark showing it was military issue, i.e. issued to a chaplain. It has a nice design being of square form with a stylised cross to its lids, its inside has been thickly gilded. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs - just the usual faint marks. The inside is perfectly clean. It measures 3 inches (7.6cms) square by 1 inch (2.8cms) tall and weighs 177 grams. A well made good quality interesting example.
