Large Size 18 14ct Solid Gold Hampden Hunter 15 Jewel Pocket Watch with superbly engraved case. Dated 1886. Description: Size 18 Hampden Full Hunter Pocket Watch dating to 1886 made by Hampden Watch Company and comprising a superbly engraved 14K Solid Gold Hunting Case with superb engraving housing a very good quality 15 Jewel movement and is fronted by a beautiful white porcelain dial with black steeled hands. Size: 54.7mm diameter. Weight: 4.28oz ( 121.4gms ) Case: 14K Solid Gold superbly engraved Full Hunter Case, stamped in the case to confirm the triple hinged case made by Keystone. Solid gold hinges, which is a sign of quality. Covers nicely decorated with floral pattern. The case is thrice marked with number 1256849, so all original. Movement: Movement is a high quality beautiful 15 jewel Hampden Model 2 18 size Hunting , stem wound and lever set. the movement is marked Railway and has other markings " Patent Pinion", "Adjusted" and additionally "Springfield, Mass". A new mainspring has been fitted. The movement was serviced and oiled in 2012 and is in near mint condition.Hampden serial No. 436574 dates production to 1886.Running strongly and keeping excellent time.
