This is a large substantial claymore style sword. Of the type used in Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. Solid Brass fittings, lwood handle . It has a carbon steel blade. Solid, not a cheap Pakistani or Chinese show piece. Original list of $195. Constructed with a three-quarter forged tang (not welded). I consider is strong enough for stage and light contact but would not recommend it for full contact live steel combat. As with any weapon, the suitability or unsuitability for any use is the responsibility of the user. No use whatsoever is endorsed. I am clearing some warehouse stock. The sword is new but has been in storage for some time. There may be tarnish but no rust or other problems. Blade is not sharp as shipped but can be sharpened. IMPORTANT: We are cleaning out old warehouse stock. These items are packed after we photograph them, we cannot get additional photos or answer detailed questions. Also, the items are available for local sale: it is possible they may be sold already and not be currently available. While we try not to let that happen, our feedback shows we have made mistakes. rest assured that in that case you will be refunded as soon as we relize it. We have corrected our procedure, and do not expect much trouble, but as we said, it has been a problem in the past and we are sorry.
