LARGE & UNUSUAL PIMA FLARED BOWL with CHUCKWALLAS This fine and unusual Pima basketry bowl of flared form has a design of encircling chuckwalla lizards. The Chuckwalla lizards were a mainstay of the Pima Indian diet. Now mostly gone, the Chuckwallas were very large for a desert lizard and were hunted for food. This basket is 16 1/2" x 11" x 5" deep. It is in very good condition with a few missing stitches, mostly to the base. I have shown the 2 areas at the bottom w t are missing stitches. Solid handsome basket. Peeled willow for the background and devil's claw for the black design elements. Please add $30 for shipping. Insurance is optional.
