AJ Royal pendant designed by Arne Jacobbsen. Manufactured by Louis Poulsen. White aluminum, 9 inches by 19.5 inchesdiameter. Inner shade is 11.5inches. Sockets and wiring appear sound, but should be checked before installation. In good condition with a scratch and smudges as pictured. Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ pendant in 1957 specifically for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen . This is the larger model which has three 60 w light bulbs above an inner shade as well as one 100 w in the shade. This bulb can be turned on separately if properly wired. T is no diffuser plate in the larger model. Although the majority of the light is directed downwards, the horizontal slats allow some diffusion upwards in an ambient way. These lamps are selling in Danish auctions for 190 Euros.
