Fresh out of an auction, I picked up a village ofmica Japan Putz oversized buildings with many marked “Made in Japan .” I believe that all of these buildings date to the 1930’s or so. This auction is for one building only. The last two pictures show the village in its entirety and I will be listing these pieces over the next few weeks, so make sure you check my auctions regularly. This auction is for one building, a church fully covered in white mica giving the appearance of sparkling snow. The base measures 7 inches by 4 inches and the piece stands just shy of 9 inches tall with its removable steeple in place. Windows and door are cellophane to allow the church to glow from within when a bulb is placed into the rear access hole. The light bulb and cord are not included . The little standing angle is also mica enhanced with metal wings and a tiny spun cotton berry. The darker colored circles on the front of the base are gold enhanced mica, not losses. I will leave the two stickers on the base which I believe are auction house and dealer codes. Amazingly, all of the cellophane is intact. In the lit picture, the windows show loss of some color, but there is no loss of cellophane. One fence post is missing its top plug, easily remedied. I believe that the removable steeple had a cross.
