VERY BIG PLANTER VASE FROGS SITTING ON LILY PADS VINTAGE MAJOLICA This gorgeous planter is very indicative of the art of Majolica but you should be the ultimate judge Glazed with a controlled crackle finish, non porous, this beautiful planter is fully glazed inside and out. It can be used as a planter or room accent. The vase/planter stands 10" inches tall and has extremely unique earthy coloring with a stunning turquoise in the mix. This particular Majolica Frog on Lily Pads design is common in bowls but not common at all in large planters. Try a search and see what you can pull up. This planter weighs almost 21 lbs. and measures 10" tall, 10 1/2" across the opening on top and 7" at base, and 45" in circumference at the widest part of the body. It is a green/turquoise color with 5 frogs sitting on lily pads (big greenish/beige color frogs with black eyes) with a total of 11 lily pads around the planter. It is in a great vintage condition without any chips or cracks noted. The design of the planter has intentionally caused a superficial crazing in the glaze. The result is an antiqued style that brings stateliness to a décor. These durable majolica planters can accommodate large potted plants or can be converted into a table base by adding a stand and glass top. Posted with eBay Mobile
