For purple lovers like me ---- this is an awfully appealing piece of glass. Although I'm a Victorian person and this is a bit later, I've learned it is the Moon & Stars pattern made popular by Fenton for L.E. Smith. It bring back (hate to admit this!) my childhood. The covered compote is in mint condition - clear, shiny finish - and without chips or cracks. I bought it from a lady who'd inherited from an aunt years ago, and she packed away everything (wrapped amazingly carefully in towels) at that time. The compote and lid are both four mold pieces, and in total it stands 10 inches tall, and six inches in diameter. I apologize for some of the slightly fuzzy photos, but I wanted to capture the color without the flash. If t's any additional information I may provide, please don't hesitate to e-mail.
