I believe that this toy monkey was made in Bavaria during the Germany's division as Sekiguchi's popular toy monkey Monchhichi could not be imported to the West. There have been many 'copies of Monchhichi but his one, often referred to as Tiemi, has to be the cutest. This monkey is a bluish grey and wears it's red cap an satchel. It has no tail, which is typical for this sized Tiemi. It is 14 inches (36 cm) from head to toe and it can put a thumb or fingers in it's mouth. There are no rubs to the paint though the paint on the lips has faded slightly due to age. The fur is soft and clean for it's age (made in either late 70s or early 80s).
