Large Wooden Ships Wheel with Brass Center and Rope for HangingItem DescriptionGreat ship's wheel for your buying consideration. Recently picked the piece up at an auction. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!An Ebayer recently selected this item by mistake and the transaction was cancelled before they paid. So the item is available for your buying advantage again!Nice looking piece. Could not tell you if ever used or if it has just been a decorative piece. It is keyed in the brass center, so it could have been utilized on a small boat. The spindles and side pieces have the looks of being wood doweled to the outer wood ring like and older wheel would be.I see no cracks or repairs to the ship's wheel. Only thing I see is cracks in one of the spindles probably due to the wood getting dried out. The old rope really adds a nice touch for hanging the piece. I actually have it up on the wall in my office right now with about 15 of my wall clocks!The ship's wheel still has a great finish on it. There are 10 spindles on this wheel. The only thing I have done to the wheel is wipe it down with orange oil and then put a lot of wood oil on the wheel to rehydrate the wood which I do with all the small wood furniture pieces I offer for sale as well.The wheel is 36" across and about 2.25" wide.
