John Nieto is a nationally and internationally known painter know primarily for his intense and gorgeous colorist paintings and prints. This black and white, ink drawing is unusual in his history. This lithograph on watercolor paper is signed and numbered, with watermark. However, this piece is not dated. It is estimated to be executed in 1976. If you are interested in this beautiful piece, it is recommended that you research John Nieto and the history of his extraordinary work and life. This particular piece has been in my family with one owner for approximately 35 years. "Strong Medicine" was appraised recently at 2,500.00 As with all artwork, it is subjective and must speak to the buyer. If one is a collector of this artist, it is a special piece to add to that collection. Otherwise it is a piece that stands very strongly on it's own merit. "Strong Medicine" is indeed worthy of it's title. The piece is in very good condition with some slight yellowing on the paper. It is unframed.
