Please note all my Japanese fabrics have been with me in France since well before Japans tragic earthquake - some customers have contacted me to ask. With Spring busting out all over l couldn't resist breaking out the Cottons so .....This panel is a Japanese Yukata Cotton from a vintage unused Kimono Roll so no seam lines. A fine White cotton with a wonderful huge stylised Butterfly stencilled in Indigo - bold & dramatic with a very Art Deco feel to it. Lovely piece. Conditionwise,this panel has some issues, it has been poorly stored at some point. There are a several scattered pinhead size and a couple of slightly larger age spots - please see photos. However, this is a great design & it would be well worth a little creativity avoiding these issues. I only see a couple on the actual butterflies which are quite unobtrusive because of the pattern ( see photo of the biggest) so using them for Applique may be the answer. The panel is 14 ins wide x 42 ins long. Lovely piece - great design. LAST piece. Most of my fabrics are sourced from Japan for my own handicraft projects & l sell my excess, so if you see one you like, please bid - it may be the only piece like it l ever list!
