Please note all my Japanese fabrics have been with me in France since well before Japans tragic earthquake - some customers have contacted me to ask. With Spring busting out all over l couldn't resist breaking out the Cottons so .....This panel is a Japanese Yukata Cotton from a vintage unused Kimono Roll so no seam lines. A fine White cotton with a wonderful huge stylised Butterfly stencilled in Indigo - bold & dramatic with a very Art Deco feel to it. Lovely piece. Conditionwise,this panel has some issues, it has been poorly stored at some point. There are a several scattered pinhead size and a couple of slightly larger age spots - please see photos. However, this is a great design & it would be well worth a little creativity avoiding these issues. I only see a couple on the actual butterflies which are quite unobtrusive because of the pattern ( see photo of the biggest) so using them for Applique may be the answer. The panel is 14 ins wide x 42 ins long. Lovely piece - great design. LAST piece. Most of my fabrics are sourced from Japan for my own handicraft projects & l sell my excess, so if you see one you like, please bid - it may be the only piece like it l ever list! I do not pretend to be an expert, l am an enthusiast with a love of fabric and want my customers to be happy with their purchase - l would never deliberately mislead. I describe to the best of my ability & am quite 'picky' about pointing out even minor flaws so no nasty surprises. All my fabrics are Vintage and many are taken from Vintage Kimono's no longer usable so recycled for their wonderful fabric. I unpick them very carefully, but by their nature there may be fine pinholes along the seam line & some minor colour change across the seam line - if this is prominent l will comment on it. Vintage fabrics are rarely flawless - and when they are tend to be prohibitively expensive! I do not have the expertise to remove some marks so leave that to those of you who are more expert and for the same reason l do not iron my fabrics prior to sending them out as this may fix discolouration & prevent you using your skills if you choose to do so - though they are rarely badly creased in any case. I describe colours to the best of my ability but perceptions & monitors do vary so if you have precise colour matches in mind, on line buying may not be for you. Having said that these fabrics are wonderful for their uniqueness, character, often classic design & a quality of manufacture not always seen these days. Many are works of Art in their own right & more than repay a bit of creativity in avoiding any flaws.Vintage Patination (by that l mean uniform colour softening NOT mottling or fabric 'rust') adds to their soul & beauty. In these days of Recession what better time to buy these beautiful & low priced fabrics to create something fabulous for your home or small business. My fabrics come from a smoke free home - l do have pets but they are not allowed in my fabric room! These fabrics are perfect for all kinds of handicrafts. I am an honest person, if you have any problem l will always do my best to sort it out if it is a reasonable complaint - l take pride in my fabrics. Just contact me directly.
