LATE 1800'S T0 EARLY 1900'S BUFFALO HIDE QUIVER AND TWO ARROWS For auction are one buffalo hide quiver and two arrows, dating from the late 1800's to the early 1900's at the latest. First a description of the quiver; it is approximately 36 inched long, including the rawhide loop and feathers/horse hair drops. The quiver, without the loop and feather and horse hair drops is approximately 24 1/2 inches long and 5+ inches at its widest. It has nine complete feathers, with two more drops having partial feathers, for a total of eleven drops. One unattached feather is included, in a bag containing pages from the Sears and Roebuck & Co catalog #114, published for the 1905 sales season. The horse hair drops range in length from six inches to approximately 12 inches. T is a raw hide loop for attaching to a strap for carrying/hunting. The hair is a fairly shiney dark brown and coarse, probably a winter coat. The hair is in very good condition, with no hair missing. The quiver has no stiching missing, the inside is tanned hide, and is in overall excellent condition. The quiver alone has been the topic of much conversation. Please examine the photos - should you need more photos, please email and I will do my best to email more. The arrows are 29 inches and 28 1/2 inches long respectively. Each arrow has a stone point in excellent condition, three feathers, with both attached by sinew. Additionally, the arrows have original black painted bands - used for owner identification. The feathers do show signs of age, as would be expected, but are all still attached to their respective arrow. The arrows are in excellent condition, with no breaks, fractures, or damage. The wood shafts (unknown wood to me) show signs of having been worked. Again, please examine the photos. Included with the winning bid are two plastic bags containing wadded up pages of the Sears, Roebuck & Co catalog 114. Catalog 114 was printed for the 1905 sales year. The pages were wadded and stuffed into the bottom of the quiver to slightly elevate the arrows when I obtained it. These pages give an accurate time for the minimum age of the quiver and arrows as being the earliest 1900's. The prices for items in the catalog - mainly pistols - are astounding! These are great American West items which display very well and will be great conversation pieces. These are sold "as is", and I highly reccommend insuring when shipping. I will carefully bubblewrap the quiver and arrows, and ship via USPS Priority Mail. S&H is $12.00, insurance extra. Payment via PatPal, money order, or check. Checks will be held until cleared - however long that takes! Please email any questions & Happy Bidding!
