is a very rare and unique item and one that will grace the most sophisticated flow blue collection. It is a matching flow blue pedestal and jardinière in the Roosevelt pattern. They tend not to come up for sale as the advanced collectors will keep these in their collections, due to the rarity. I have seen many flow blue collections and this is one piece that you do not see often. In our 20 yrs of flow blue collecting, I have only seen two other pedestals and jardineres. One was the one I bought my wife for Christmas in 1994 from the Caskeys which sold in 2001 when we liquidated our collection for $4800. The other was a piece in an auction which brought $4000 in Ohio in 1994. I have no reserve on the piece. I am confident that the Ebay community will know what it is. I know it will not bring $4000 but will bring more than $9.99. In trying to identify who produced the Roosevelt pattern, the only reference I could obtain was from Petra Williams book indicating that the maker was unknown (but probably English) and a circa date of 1891. As many of you know, Petra Williams wrote the definitive books on flow blue identification, so we can all agree that this pattern is not seen often rare and English made. I did buy this piece in England in the Wolds of Lincolnshire. The pedestal and jardinere measure a total of 35 ½" tall. The pedestal stands 25" tall and the base is 13" in diameter. The jardinière stands 10 ½" tall and measures 14 1/2" diameter at the largest point. The piece is not perfect. are the flaws. The jardinière is cracked and t are at least 3 hairlines that I can see- one goes all the way thru the piece and can be seen on the outside. Measurement of this crack on the outside is 1 ½". The base has a chip (2 mm) on it. Not severe but this is a flaw. T is age crazing on both the pedestal and jardinière. See pictures for all of the flaws. This pedestal and jardinere, the way it is, still displays well. However, a person could also have it restored if they wish. All it costs is money and w else can you find a piece like this? Shipping details: I would rather not ship it, but I will take care of the arrangements and have it professionally packed with the cost of packing and shipping to be borne by the buyer. It will have to be in two boxes (both double boxed) and it will be expensive given the fragility of the pieces and the need to protect them. I would estimate the packing of the item and the shipping to be around $125-$175 depending on w you live but again this is an estimate and could be less but I am sure not more. Another option is for you to pick it up in Winchester , Kentucky , which is 15 miles from Lexington , Kentucky . (come see the horses and drink an Ale 8) Another option is to meet me in Louisville as we are t every weekend or weekday by arrangement for no charge. Another option is I can deliver the piece gladly to Indianapolis which is the site of the Flow Blue International Collectors Club convention (19-22 July) for $100 (auction and delivery prepaid). is a listing of the pictures and what they show: 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , and 5 th pictures are of the piece on each side 6 th pic is of the inside of the jardinière- shows some staining as someone actually used it for a plant 7 th pic shows one crack 8 th pic shows a crack on the top and one in the middle. The hairline crack in the middle goes through to the outside of the piece and is 1 ½" long. See last pic. 9 th pic shows chip on base (2mm) 10th shows top of pedestal 11th shows bottom of pedestal 12th shows close up of side of jardinière I will try and add two more pics of the embossed "Roosevelt" mark and a picture of the top of the pedestal. If they do not add for whatever the reason, please email me and I will send them to you. I have not figured out how to put 14 pictures of an item on Ebay when they limit you to 12. Ask any questions you have. I will be glad to answer all to my best ability. Th...
